Construction continues on city’s new Public Safety Building.

A new Public Safety Building for the City of Coral Gables currently is under construction at the intersection of Salzedo Street and Alcazar Avenue.

The contractor has completed the concrete pour of the second-floor slab and is now erecting the columns from the second to the third floor. The installation of the precast joists and concrete pour of the third floor will follow.

Construction activities will continue until the projected completion of the building’s structure by mid-September 2019. At that time, work will begin on the interior of the building. The project is on time to meet the substantial completion date of August 2020. The five-story building will be the new headquarters for the City of Coral Gables Police and Fire, plus other essential departments.
