Christopher B. Spuches, Coral Gables litigation attorney and partner in the law firm Agentis PLLC, becomes chair of the board of the Coral Gables Museum on Oct. 1, it was announced recently.
Spuches succeeds Lynn Bauer, becoming the sixth chair of the museum. His new role will be celebrated officially at the annual board meeting on Oct. 2, followed by a preview of the 2019-20 season, which commences at 7 p.m. and will be open to the membership and general public. The public is encouraged to attend the preview, meet Spuches and learn about the coming year’s exhibits and events.
“I am honored to become chair of the Coral Gables Museum, following in the footsteps of some outstanding community leaders, such as Arva Moore Parks and Chip Withers,” said Spuches, who has also been active in the Coral Gables Chamber, serving on the board in 2016-17, and the Fordham Alumni Association. Earlier this year Florida Trend magazine named him one of the prestigious Legal Elite of 2019.
A native of New York City, Spuches graduated from New York University and Fordham Law School. Initially practicing law in New York, Spuches has practiced in Miami and Coral Gables for the past 13 years. He and his wife, Christina Porter, have two children, Jack and Juni, and live in Coconut Grove. After several years in Downtown Miami, Spuches and his partners moved their offices to Alhambra Circle in Coral Gables two years ago.
