ANDOVER PARK
This project is currently in the Design Phase. Renovations include a new inclusive playground, basketball court, and walking trail. The inclusive playground has elements for children with autism and physical disabilities that will allow all children to enjoy playing regardless of ability. Design drawings have recently been completed, and the project has been submitted for permitting. Park will begin construction in 2021.
BENNETT LIFTER PARK
Phase 1: Demolition of the old building completed. Phase 2: Includes a new community building, parking lot, and fishing dock, which are currently in the Design Phase.
LESTER BROWN PARK
Phase 1: New playground and artificial turf football field completed. Phase 2: Includes an expanded parking lot, expanded walking trail, and perimeter fencing. The City will begin the Design Phase in 2021.
BUNCHE PARK
Construction of the alternative sports facility is nearing completion, including landscaping installation and parking lot asphalt. The project includes a gymnasium with elevated walking track and several multi-purpose rooms. The facility also includes a playground and artificial turf football field. Construction is expected to be completed in 2021.
SENIOR FAMILY CENTER
Construction is underway on the Senior Family Center project, which includes a large banquet room, exercise room, and several multi-purpose rooms. The site also includes an outdoor event space with outdoor kitchen and a lit walking trail. The shell of the building is nearly complete, and the interior construction has begun. The project is expected to be completed in 2021.
RISCO PARK
The Risco Park project is an educational facility being designed in partnership with Miami-Dade County Schools. It will house a STEM (Science Technology, Engineering, and Math) wing which includes science and robotics classrooms, as well as an Audio-Visual wing, including a TV studio, recording studio, and a radio station. The project is currently in the Design Phase, with construction drawings approximately 50% completed.
ROLLING OAKS PARK
Rolling Oaks, the City’s regional park facility, will be renovated to include a new welcome center, expanded lit walking trails, a second playground facility, and a new main entrance off 183rd Street. The project is currently in the early Design phases of the project.
CLOVERLEAF PARK
The Cloverleaf Park renovations include a new community building, playground, and parking lot. The project Design Phase is nearly complete.
