Terrabank has named Lucas Azar as executive vice president and chief lending officer. In his new position, Azar will oversee all lending activity.
“We are excited that Lucas has joined Terrabank and our management team,” said Antonio Uribe, president and CEO of Terrabank. “He has extensive experience in banking across all sectors of commercial real estate and that knowledge will be instrumental as we continue to provide opportunities for clients and their lending needs.”
With more than 20 years of experience, Azar started his career as a commercial real estate advisor. He was at Biscayne Bank for more than 14 years and played an integral role as Lending Unit team leader, senior vice president, working closely with upper management to grow its assets from $40 million to $1 billion. He also managed the construction loan portfolio where he originated more than $60 million in loans.
When Biscayne Bank was acquired by First Citizens Bank, he was instrumental in transitioning the Miami office through the merger acquisition with a loan portfolio of $800 million.
“Terrabank has been a well-respected and recognized brand for more than 35 years. With its five-star Bauer rating, signifying financial strength, I look forward to implementing lending opportunities that will continue to serve our diverse community and local economy,” Azar said.
