Now in the second year of the new design, the 2022 Nissan Kicks continues to offer the long list of the standard and available features that make it attractive to a long list of new buyers and enthusiasts of the Nissan brand.
This comes on the heals of Autotrader naming the 2021 Nissan Kicks one of its “Best New Cars for 2021” and “10 Best Car Interiors Under $50,000 for 2021.”
The 2022 Nissan Kicks starts at about $20,000 and comes with a 122 horsepower engine with 114 pound-feet of torque.
Building on that success, Nissan continues to focus on technology and a package of services designed to create appeal starting with younger buyers. Those standard features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on all 2022 Kicks grades, as well as NissanConnect Services, a suite of convenience and security features that includes an available Wi-Fi hotspot, remote vehicle commands like keyless entry, and safety features including Automatic Collision Notification.
Fuel economy is another 2022 Nissan Kicks strong point, with EPA ratings of 31 miles per gallon in the city, 36 miles per gallon on the highway and 33 miles per gallon combined. And for peace of mind, standard on all Kicks is Nissan Safety Shield 360, which includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, radar-based blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, high beam assist and rear automatic braking.
On the outside, the Kicks design immediately sets it apart from the competition. Starting with a bold front end, an aggressive bumper blends with the “double v-motion” grille, giving Kicks an attractive look. The headlights offer a high-tech, modern and premium effect, which is made better on the SR grade’s super-thin LED multi-reflector design. The SR also includes standard LED fog lights.
Kicks’ stylish rear end features LED combination lights that stretch from side to side, giving it a strong horizontal line that puts the spotlight on its wide rear structure. Like in front, the rear bumper gives it a lifted look and a premium feel.
On the inside, the Kicks is sporty, which is a must considering its name. It has a D-shaped steering wheel, comfortable 6-way driver’s seat, 4-way adjustable front passenger seat and 60/40-split fold-down rear seat. Available seating materials include the SR Premium Package, featuring Prima-Tex-appointed seating with three-tone design and stitching.
I like the 2022 Nissan Kicks for its size, feel and comfort. Give it a drive and see what you think.
