Panter, Panter & Sampedro has announced that it has awarded Imani Mitchell of Miami Palmetto Senior High School one of its annual scholarships. The scholarship was presented to Imana Mitchell on Monday, June 6.
Mitchell demonstrated a dedication to her studies and effective execution of her ideas throughout her entire high school career. During her junior year, Mitchell was part of a nine-student group that won an Aspen Challenge Award for a project related to increasing awareness of climate justice in the local community. She also earned the Posse Scholarship for her demonstration of leadership potential during her senior year.
“I am tremendously grateful for this scholarship because even though my tuition expenses are paid for through the Posse Program, which is a blessing in and of itself, my family is still left with paying for the costs of room and board fees which still places a bit of a financial burden on us,” Mitchell said. “This scholarship will help to alleviate those costs so that hopefully, in the future, I will graduate debt-free.”
Mitchell will be attending Hamilton College this fall, pursuing a double major in Cinema and Media Studies and Women and Gender Studies.
“This award represents our commitment to the next generation. Students like Imani have demonstrated their commitment to the improvement of our community through their dedication to their studies and the example they have set forth through their leadership.
Congratulations, Imani! We cannot wait to see what you do next,” said Mitchell Panter, managing partner of Panter, Panter & Sampedro.
