Series Notes:
- The HEAT and Kings meet for the first of two matchups this regular season.
- Last season, the teams split the series, 1-1, with each squad winning on their homecourt. Miami swept the series the season prior and has currently won three of the last four overall.
- The HEAT are 44-23 all-time versus Sacramento during the regular season, including 29-5 in home games and 15-18 in road games.
What to watch for:
- Today’s 3PM (local) tipoff marks as the first of nine scheduled day games this season (before 6PM). The nine afternoon games are the most in a season since playing nine matinee games during the 2017-18 campaign. This season they are split between five on the road and four at home. Additionally, today marks as Miami’s second consecutive afternoon game in Sacramento having also played at 3PM last year on 1/2/22.
- Jimmy Butler posted 27 points, eight assists, six rebounds and six steals while connecting on four three-point field goals and a perfect 7-of-7 from the line on 10/27 at GS, becoming the first player in franchise history to produce at least each of those totals in a game. Additionally, he became just the third HEAT player to have just that many points, assists, rebounds and steals in a game, joining only Dwyane Wade (3/2/09 vs. CLE) and Sherman Douglas (12/8/89 vs. ORL). With both of those occurring in home contests, Butler is the first in team history to have at least those totals on the road.
- Miami’s roster features 10 undrafted players, marking the most in the league to open the season. Among the 10 undrafted on the HEAT’s roster are Jamal Cain, Dewayne Dedmon, Udonis Haslem, Haywood Highsmith, Caleb Martin, Duncan Robinson, Dru Smith, Max Strus, Gabe Vincent and Ӧmer Yurtseven. The next highest team was seven, following four other teams with six.
Injuries:
- Miami: Victor Oladipo, Out, Not With Team – Omer Yurtseven, Out, Not With Team – Dewayne Dedmon, Questionable, Injury/Illness (Stomach; Non-Covid illness)
- Sacramento: Kevin Huerter, Probable, Injury/Illness (Left Shoulder; Soreness)
