As Thanksgiving rapidly approaches, the Miami Dolphins were among the many local sports teams giving back to their community by providing families with a savory meal for the holiday. This year’s distribution was presented by Amazon at the Hard Rock Stadium.
In cooperation with Feeding South Florida, the organization was able to distribute over 500 meal boxes. Families were pre-selected by Football Unites™ community partners, and the meal boxes they received are capable of feeding a household of 6 to 8 people. The meal boxes consist of a Thanksgiving turkey, fresh produce, and traditional sides.
Many participants had attributed the success of the Annual Thanksgiving Meal Distribution with the inclusion of Miami Dolphins players, staff and cheerleaders, along with many Amazon employees. Of the numerous Dolphins players that partook in this event was none other than star defensive tackle, Christian Wilkins who frequently gives back to the community.
The full list of players who participated in the meal distribution include: Salvon Ahmed RB, Tanner Conner TE, James Empey OL, Clayton Fejedelem S, Trey Flowers LB, Lamont Gaillard OL, Mike Gesicki TE, Jevon Holland S, Alec Ingold FB, Verone McKinley S, Jaelan Phillips LB, Trent Sherfield WR, Channing Tindall LB, Andrew Van Ginkel LB, Christian Wilkins DT, & Trill Williams CB.
