Community Police Relations Foundation (CPRF) was selected as an honoree for South Florida Business & Wealth’s 2022 Apogee Awards in recognition of Al Eskanazy, Chairman & CEO, for his professional achievements and community involvement over the past year. The honorees in each category were celebrated at a recent live awards ceremony at Gulfstream Park. The awards were presented by Akin Ayodele, former American football linebacker in the National Football League for the Miami Dolphins, and Kim Sarni, Managing Director at Lifestyle Media Group. Approximately 350 guests attended from community leaders to state officials, local government leaders and tri-county residents.

“I am honored and humbled to be recognized as a CSuite leader in the nonprofit sector. In 2018, Co-chairman and President Barry Skolnick, President of the Advisory Board Peter Hochfelder and I envisioned this organization as a vehicle that brings much- needed help to at-risk communities through acts of charity and special events with the participation of the community and law enforcement. Personal interaction between police officers and community members has proven to build trust and familiarity, which is essential to address neighborhood problems and reduce crime. We are dedicated to strengthening community and law enforcement relations through outreach, participation, events and scholarships,” said Al Eskanazy, Chairman & CEO of Community-Police Relations Foundation.

“I am proud to be an active co-chairman of Community-Police Relations Foundation. It has been a pleasure collaborating with Al and our members as we continue to unite community and police officers from numerous areas,” said Barry Skolnick, Co-chairman and CPRF President.

“We need to recognize that for too many people, the only time they meet a police officer is when something bad has happened to them, or when the police think they have done something illegal. And that is not the way to build trust. CPRF works with communities, police departments and elected officials to ensure a collaborative environment. We have seen the positive reactions that our involvement has created in many communities,” said Peter Hochfelder, President of the Advisory Board of the foundation.
