The City of Homestead and Homestead Police Department will honor the positive contributions of Police Chief Alexander E. Rolle Jr. with a building dedication ceremony and reception on Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. at the Police Headquarters, 45 NW First Ave., Homestead, Florida 33030.
The evening will include remarks from elected officials and those who have worked with Chief Rolle throughout his career, followed by a plaque unveiling and reception with light hors d’oeuvres.
In January, the Homestead City Council voted unanimously to name the Homestead Police Headquarters after Chief Rolle. He was born and raised in Homestead, overcoming great adversity and prejudice to achieve his dreams. In 1998, Chief Rolle became the First African American promoted to the position of Homestead Chief of Police and has spent more than 40 years serving the community. He has served as a compassionate and caring leader committed to improving the lives of the residents of Homestead.
The City of Homestead and Homestead Police Department remain grateful to Chief Rolle for his commitment, compassion, and leadership.
