The Greater Miami Symphonic Band with perform in concert on Tuesday, Mar. 14, 8 p.m., Gusman Concert Hall on UM campus, 1314 Miller Dr. in Coral Gables.
The program features guest conductor Col. Arnald D. Gabriel, USAF (retired), conducting La Forza del Destino (his signature piece inspired by his biography, The Force of Destiny, and guest soloist on saxophone Dale Underwood, assistant professor of music at the UM, ,performing Un Viaggio Italiano, a world premiere.
The Greater Miami Symphonic Band, lead by music director Robert Longfield also will perform these popular compositions: The Pines of Rome (movement IV, “Pines of the Appian Way”), La Sorella, Transcendent Journey, theme from The Godfather, among other pieces.
A program for the enjoyment of all with announcer comments concerning the program for the education of the audience.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $5 for students with ID and children (over 5 years old) and are available at the box office on the evening of the concert, or in advance online at www.GMSB.org. Cash, check, and major credit cards accepted.
Valet parking is not available. On-campus parking payable by phone or at the pay station near the Ring theater.
