TANGO LOVERS COMPANY which has toured the world for over 12 years and MILONGA LA IDEAL organizing Milongas and Tango Festivals in South Florida for over 20 years have teamed up to create in South Miami a new space which tangueros from the local community have been longing for some time: TANGO LOVERS MILONGA by LA IDEAL
The milongas are social events or locations for tango dancing and have successful spread all over the world. Milongas can be found even in remote corners of the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe and the Americas, every single day of the week.
This new proposal aims to also attract younger generations to this sensual and passionate art of Rio de la Plata. The milonga will maintain the tradition adding special events that will be introduced having people coming to the milonga to dance tango, have a good time, have fun and dance other genres as well at the Buenos Aires style.
The event will happen all Fridays of the month, except first Fridays. For those who are new to tango, specialized teachers will give classes before the start of each party from 8 PM until 9 PM. The milonga dance will start at 9 PM until 1 AM. It is a great event to celebrate special occasions at low cost such as birthdays, anniversaries, team building or corporate gatherings with tango motifs and music and show of the milonga and also with the opportunity of taking the class.
While TANGO LOVERS COMPANY is preparing for October this year its new coast to coast version of its USA national tour of its full show VOLVER by TANGO LOVERS, the artistic production of the new milonga designed for the South Miami community is managed with the expertise of Tango Lovers and the hosting and bookings are done by Mrs. Lydia Hensen owner of La Ideal Milonga. Lydia from Cuban and Chinese descent is a long time milonguera who says that she has tango instilled in her veins. She is a respectable organizer with all the know how to make the new milonga a pleasant place for the guests.
Tickets are very affordable between 15 and 20 dollars per person.
The venue is the German American Social Club of Miami located at 11919 SW 56th street just off the Turnpike. The club has a nice sized hall with full bar and argentine empanadas which are prepared by the club chef “Tano” who is originally from Argentina.
