Chimney Cake & Co., a new go-to dessert destination with the most scrumptious chimney cakes this side of the Atlantic, officially opened its doors March 18-19 at Dadeland Mall. Redefining indulgent, the specialty bakery is taking a centuries-old European pastry tradition (chimney cakes) and turning them into dazzling cones – and cakes – that can be stuffed with sweet and savory variations. The end-result? Next level delicious!
The family-owned business celebrated its grand opening with samples, giveaways, and special deals for customers. More than 700 chimney cakes – and smiles – were made during the two-day event. Countless different variations of the beloved treat were served using a wide range of fillings such as ice cream, fudge, caramel, whipped cream, fruits, candies, cookies and more. For those craving something salty instead of sweet, the chimney cones were stuffed with gourmet cheeses, meats, and fresh greens.
Flavorful, and freshly baked chimney cakes are also sold “a la old school,” i.e., by themselves just as Eastern European grandmothers used to make them. The unique soft, chewy, and crispy texture, along with a coating of sugar, cinnamon, or sea salt, makes for a tasty snack or dessert that is simple and irresistible.
Guests also enjoyed items from the full coffee bar, serving the iconic Viennese premium brand Julius Mienl.
“I am filled with joy and gratitude to open Chimney Cake & Co., a first of its kind bakery in South Florida,” said owner Max Goldstein. “My hope is that every bite of our handcrafted delights brings smiles and comfort to all those who venture here to try something new and different.”
The colorful and bright bakery is conveniently located next to the Apple Store, near the main southeast entrance of Dadeland Mall. The eatery is open seven days a week and during regular mall hours.
