You’ve seen Team Mannatec on ESPN competing in the US Open Martial Arts Championship. Now, they’re touring North America and coming to Doral.
The team competes at the 33 Annual Pan American International Martial Arts championships Nov. 11-12, the oldest and most prestigious martial arts tournament in South Florida, the Caribbean and Latin America, held this year at the Deauville Beach Resort at South Beach.
Martial arts styles will showcase top competitors in Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, Kenpo, XMA (Xtreme Martial Arts), and Jiu Jitsu, contestants coming from the United States and seven other countries: England, Mexico, Bahamas, Guatemala, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and Honduras, all striving for top honors in forms, weapons, sparring and grappling.
We are honored to be one of the two fortunate martial arts studios in South Florida to host a Team Mannatec workshop and demonstrations, along with Reyes Martial Arts in Hialeah. North American Sport Karate Association (NASKA) teams up with Mannatech for this 14-city tour to fight malnutrition.
On Thursday, Nov. 10, at 5:30 p.m., Team Mannatec will perform demonstrations, teach classes and talk about nutrition at Anta’s Fitness and Self Defense, 10721 NW 58 St. in Doral, a free community service workshop.
Manny Reyes Sr who operates the oldest martial arts school in South Florida has been hosting this tournament for 33 years, one of the largest, oldest and most prestigious tournaments in the nation.
Team Mannatec’s goal is to raise awareness about the fight against malnutrition at each U.S. and Canadian competition, speaking to students about proper nutrition, self image and the “Give for Real” campaign. They will also appear at studios in the host area.
Scheduled to appear at both Anta’s Doral Studio and Reyes Martial Arts during compete the competition are Becca Ross, member of the Black Belt Hall of Fame, and a 25-time Forms and Weapons World Champion.
She’ll be joined by Ross Levine, six-time Weapons and Sparring World Champion; Caitlin Dechelle, Black Belt Hall of Fame memberf who has won 62 World and National Championships; and Marc Canonizado, 12-time World Champion. (Caitlin and Marc just finished filming a Kung Fu movie in Hong Kong with Jackie Chan).
