You get a choice of power in the Maverick XLT: The 2.5-liter engine produces 191 combined horsepower with 155 pound-feet of torque. The 2.0-liter engine produces 250 horsepower with 277 pound-feet of torque.
The payload capacity is for 1,559 pounds, which is plenty for your basic needs when driving to get lumber, gardening goods or a quick trip to the supermarket.
It’s also lots of fun. Throw a tailgate party with built-in bottle openers, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, available B&O Sound System and more.
The 17-inch carbonized gray-painted aluminum wheels come standard on the 2023 Ford Maverick XLT.
In the cabin, you get navy pier and medium slate interior colors and unique cloth front bucket seats. The seats are flexible, with a six-way adjustable driver’s seat and four-way manual adjustable passenger’s seat with manual lumbar support.
The 2.5 liter hybrid engine delivers 40 miles per gallon in the city and 33 on the highway, with a combined 37 miles.
I like the packages that are available, which allow for maximum customization. The tremor off-road package has dark headlamps and taillamps, rugged all-terrain tires and off-road tuned suspension with one-inch lift and steel skid plates. This package requires the 2.0 liter eco-boost engine and advanced four-wheel drive.
You can also combine that with the plus appearance package, which gives you carbonized gray elements on the roof and hood, lower door graphic and door handles. The carbonized gray mirrors are included with both the XLT luxury package and the next level trim, the Lariat.
The FX4 off-road package has front tow hooks, hill descent control features, skid plates, all-terrain tires, five drive modes and more. This package also requires the 2.0 liter ecoboost engine and all-wheel drive.
The last package, which is all about looks, can be summed up as “everything black.” This package includes black door handles, mirrors, grille, headlamps and taillamps. You also get black 18-inch unique machined-face ebony black painted aluminum wheels and black edition decals.
