As Life Time, the nation’s premier healthy lifestyle brand, continues to move toward the early August opening of Life Time Miami at The Falls, health and wellness industry expert Stephen Datte has been announced as the leader of the 120,000-square-foot athletic club.
The club’s opening will mark the second in Greater Miami and the fourth in South Florida. Datte will lead a team of more than 200 upon opening.
Life Time Miami at the Falls will cover two floors with something for everyone from 90 days old to 90-plus years old including seven boutique studios, indoor pickleball courts, a spacious fitness floor and space for small group training programs, fast-casual cafe, full-service salon and spa, rejuvenation suites for men and women and dedicated kids’ spaces, along with a ground-level outdoor beach club.
Every area will be guided by the best team members under Datte’s leadership and focused on providing a variety of health, wellness, recovery, and leisure programs, offerings, and amenities.
In his role, Datte will be responsible for all aspects of the club’s opening and ongoing daily operations, including training team members, ensuring members are connected and engaged throughout the club, and ultimately helping members live healthier, happier lives.
Datte has spent his life as an advocate of living a healthy and active lifestyle and brings more than 30 years of experience in the fitness industry. He joined Life Time in 2018 and has helped to grow locations in California and Nevada before locating to Florida. Datte has been married to his wife for 32 years and has two children.
“At Life Time, we all have the same mission and that is to help people live healthier and happier lives,” Datte said. “The opportunity to do that here in South Florida, where many are already taking the right actions for their proactive health, is very exciting and we’re excited to serve the community for years to come.”
In anticipation of the opening, Life Time’s Preview Center at The Falls is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Those who sign up for a membership can have immediate access to Life Time Coral Gables as a pre-opening offering, or a digital membership.
Life Time has steadily been expanding its presence in South Florida and is a long-time owner and producer of the famous Miami Marathon, which celebrated its 21st anniversary in January of 2023. The opening at The Falls will become Life Time’s fourth club in South Florida: Life Time Palm Beach Gardens opened in August 2022, Life Time Coral Gables opened in August 2020, and Life Time Boca Raton opened in May 2006. Life Time also operates in Tampa and recently announced a long-term lease in the former Harbour Island Athletic Club, which will fully open by the end of 2023.
