Celebrating 30 Years of Marlins Baseball!

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

There’s no better time to be back home with the Miami Marlins! This season has been electric and history making, reminding me of the same magic we saw in 1997 and 2003.

It’s an honor to see this team perform both as a member of the front office and as a former player. As an original Marlin and part of both the 1997 and 2003 World Series Championship teams, this is a special year to be with the Fish; the team is off to a red-hot start and we’re celebrating the club’s 30th Anniversary.

Each Friday night, we turn back the clocks and highlight great moments in Marlins history at our Flashback Fridays. It’s been awesome to see past players like Livan Hernandez, Mike Lowell, Juan Pierre, Brad Penny and my 2023 World Series buddy Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez celebrate big moments of the past and cheering on the team of the present.

Each of the Flashback Fridays have been a blast. In addition to being able to see South Florida baseball legends, fans and players are giving this season’s games that vintage Marlins feel as they sport the throwback teal pin-striped uniforms every Friday home game.

Fans can relive their favorite Marlins’ memories in a new museum dedicated to the team’s history, located on the left field concourse. Take a walk down memory lane and reminisce about the organization’s biggest moments, enjoy fan favorite memorabilia, read front page headlines, look back at the championship celebrations and much more.

Whether it’s the championship moments, or key plays that led to victories or milestones, there are too many unforgettable memories to count in the first 30 years of the Marlins’ existence.

This has been an incredible year to recognize the past and celebrate the future with new memories and amazing experiences happening just about every Marlins game. Whether it’s a cycle or a 5-hit game by Luis Arraez as he attempts to bat .400, or a masterful pitching performance by the reigning Cy Young Award winner Sandy Alcantara or one of our other young starters, history continues to be made and as this year’s Marlins team just keeps swimming. It takes me back to our previous championship squads with the same teamwork we displayed on the field every day, relentlessly pursuing a win.

Join me at loanDepot park as we give the players the support they deserve. It’s always special witnessing generations of Marlins fans walk through the ballpark. And now they all have a new museum to check out together and share their own stories of the past and the present.
