Starting at $66,300, the Corvette Stingray is a site for sore eyes.
It is a beautiful, well-designed supercar with available 495 horsepower. This beautiful beast travels from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds. Its top track speed is 194 miles an hour.
So why do you need all this power?
Rocketing a quarter-mile time of 11.2 seconds with the available 495 horsepower, LT2 V8 engine, the Stingray is engineered to give you the pulse-pounding ride all drivers crave.
Add to that 470 pound-feet of torque, and this Stingray is the most powerful production model in its history. Now that is saying something because Chevrolet prides itself on creating powerful machines that are the envy of the world. Yes, I said it – the Corvette Stingray is what other cars aspire to be.
The standard 8-speed dual-clutch transmission combines the smoothness of an automatic with the control of a manual. This translates to a quickness on the road that is unmatched.
This machine delivers 16 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway.
Chevrolet is applying big technology to make the Corvette Stingray a better performer. The available magnetic selective ride control 4.0 features an innovative suspension fluid containing metal particles that align to change fluid viscosity, giving you the confidence and control to push harder while staying planted. And it’s able to read the road every millisecond and adapts in as little as 10–15 milliseconds.
To give you an even more custom experience, there are several drive modes including weather, tour, sport and track modes, as well as a customizable “mymode” and “z” mode.
The interior design is inspired by fighter jets and is all wrapped in genuine leather. The steering wheel has a racing design and the climate controls are vertical, a detail I have never seen before. All together it feels like you are in the cockpit of a flying vehicle.
The 12-inch diagonal digital instrument display gives you a sense of command over the road that is very unique. You also get wireless device charging, a 14-speaker performance series sound system and 11 interior color options.
On the outside you get the modern, sleek lines that have become the signature look of the Stingray, accentuated with new, five split spoke wheel options.
To summarize: the Corvette Stingray takes you to the next level of performance and then some. It’s hard to put into words what it feels like to be behind the wheel of such a powerful machine. So give it a try and tell me what you think. See you on the road.
