Board members of the Coral Gables Woman’s Club gathered once again at the Intercontinental Doral for the club’s annual board retreat on August 12. While their clubhouse is located in Coral Gables with the club’s free children’s dental clinic, members live in the Doral area and all over the county, including a few from Broward. CGWC President Ruth Martinez was especially grateful to Randal Pasut and his staff for at the Intercontinental Doral for enduring a seamless day with its great location, setting, food and services.
The agenda for this retreat in the club’s centennial year was packed with updates for future and ongoing celebratory events making this historic milestone year memorable. From the dedication of a new flagpole and the installation of more than 150 native orchids in trees around the clubhouse, to the sale of bricks as part of a capital campaign, this dynamic group of women are impressive.
All those efforts are leading up to the club’s Centennial Gala set for December 2. Proceeds from that Gala will benefit the club’s children’s dental clinic that provides free dental care annually for approximately 500 Miami Dade County young people who fall between the cracks in our healthcare system.
