The Humane Society of Greater Miami’s Walk for the Animals is back in person, and it’s taking on spooky season.

You and your four-legged BFF are invited to Margaret Pace Park on Oct. 14 for a morning of fun. This year’s 24th annual Walk for the Animals will gather thousands of Miami’s most passionate animal-lovers and their dogs to help raise much-needed funds to benefit the homeless dogs and cats of Miami.

At the Walk for the Animals, going the extra mile to support our furry friends is literally a “walk in the park!” Starting at 8:30 a.m., people and dogs of all ages will enjoy a morning filled with entertainment. There will be fun games for people and their pets, a bounce house, an exciting raffle with awesome prizes, and so much more.

You won’t want to miss the seriously amusing “Look-Alike” and “Best Kisser” contests, plus a new Doggie Costume Contest to get everyone in the Halloween spirit! Enjoy breakfast, courtesy of Starbucks Doral, to fuel you before taking off on the scenic walk around the park featuring gorgeous ocean and city views.

Don’t have a furry best friend yet? Adopt your next family member at the Adoption Arena where local rescue groups will have dogs and cats looking for their forever families.

Adding to the excitement of the day on stage is returning event emcee, Kenny Walker, morning host of 102.7 The Beach. Joining Kenny onstage for the first time will be CBS4 News anchor and animal lover Marybel Rodriguez.

“We are thrilled to bring back our in-person event after going virtual for two years,” said Jossie Aguirre, executive director of the Humane Society of Greater Miami. “There are so many new components to our event this year, including a new venue, Halloween activities, and new sponsors, and we look forward to a morning of fun with the animal lovers in our community. Every penny raised through this event will help us care for more than 400 homeless dogs and cats daily.”

The Walk for the Animals is free to attend, but even more rewarding when you fundraise. Register at www.walkfortheanimalsmiami.com.
