The 2023 Canyon AT4X is a tech wonder.
It has received several high-tech innovations inside the vehicle that expand the Canyon AT4X’s off-roading capabilities. To begin with, the Canyon offers more camera views than any competitor in its class with up to 10 available views including surround vision and front/rear underbody cameras.
Why is this important?
These camera views are engineered to provide an ultimate off-road experience. The all-new front and rear underbody camera feature an integrated washing function and are waterproof for driving in mud or water. The front and rear camera can be viewed with HD surround vision for a view of your surroundings, underneath and around your truck when driving on rocks or gravel.
The Canyon also has received a new class-leading 6.3-inch diagonal head-up display, a standard 11.3-inch diagonal infotainment center touchscreen equipped with compatibility for Apple Carplay, Android Auto and available Google built-in compatibility and an available 11-inch diagonal fully digital multi-color driver instrument center. Together, these displays enhance the driver’s experience when adventuring off the beaten path.
For an even more enhanced experience, the Canyon AT4X also features the new off-road performance display, displaying real-time off-roading performance data in a visual format on the center infotainment center and instrument cluster. This display contains three tabs — terrain, overlanding and baja modes, which feature key metrics and visuals to help drivers tackle a variety of environments. Terrain includes 3D Pitch and Roll with max scores, baja mode with g-force with max scores and overlanding mode with an aircraft-style altimeter.
The hardcore off-roading hardware isn’t the only reason this truck demands respect on the trails. The Canyon AT4X was designed to be bigger and bolder than ever, receiving an amped-up exterior including a bolder redesigned grille and headlamps, 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels and larger off-road tires.
This truck also offers exceptional comfort featuring premium leather-appointed front seats with red stitching and sporty white and red accents throughout the interior.
Under the hood, the Canyon AT4X has a 2.7-liter turbo high-output engine with 310 horsepower, a best-in-class 430 pound-feet of torque and a towing capacity of 5,500 pounds. Starting at more than $55,000, the Canyon AT4X delivers 17 miles per gallon in the city and about 20 miles per gallon on the highway.
Overall, the GMC Canyon AT4X is an amazing pickup truck with a lot of upside. Give it a spin and let me know what you think.
