Palmer Trinity School (PTS) recently welcomed Mike Domitrz, the founder of The Center for Respect, who presented his critically acclaimed program “SAFER Choices: A Candid Look at Dating, Communication, Respect, & Sexual Assault” to students, and shared his talk “SAFER Choices for my Child in a Sexualized World” with PTS parents.

The interactive program aimed at Palmer Trinity students of all genders discussed the power of “asking first” in consent; how to intervene when alcohol and sexual pressures are combined at parties and friends’ houses, and how to support survivors of sexual assault.

Palmer Trinity School parents met for a separate discussion on how to protect their teenagers from being pressured into sexual activity they are not ready for, and tips on raising respectful teens that ask permission before attempting to kiss a person or take a physical relationship further.

“Palmer Trinity School is committed to providing our students with the skills for making safe choices that benefit them and their peers, as well as assisting parents with the tools to help them along in that process,” said Patrick Roberts, head of school. “We appreciate Mike Domitrz’s advice on dating, respecting boundaries and communication with Palmer Trinity families.”

Mike Domitrz is the critically acclaimed author of the book Can I Kiss You?, a nationally renowned speaker, and founder of The Center for Respect. He takes teenagers and parents on a fun, thought-provoking, and hard-hitting journey filled with solutions and real-life skills.
