Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department (Animal Services), in partnership with the Miami-Dade Public Library System (MDPLS), have announced the launch of the third annual “Presents for Pets” holiday drive for shelter pets.
Now through Jan. 31, 2024, the public is invited to join Animal Services in sharing the warmth of the holiday season by picking up a present for a shelter pet when doing their holiday shopping.
As the holidays approach, the county’s homeless pets eagerly anticipate the comfort and joy that treats, toys, cozy blankets and pet beds bring. Your thoughtful donations not only will brighten their days but also make a significant difference in the lives of shelter pets.
“By donating pet beds, blankets, toys, and treats to our shelter pets, you can directly make their shelter stay more comfortable and make their journey towards finding forever families more enjoyable,” said Annette Jose, director of Miami-Dade County Animal Services.
Donation bins will be available at the Animal Services Pet Adoption and Protection Center at 3599 NW 79 Ave. in Doral and at the Stephen P. Clark Center at 111 NW First Street in Miami.

Every year, Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department (Animal Services) provides care and refuge for 28,000 to 30,000 lost and abandoned dogs and cats. Every day, Animal Services staff works diligently to find life-long homes for these abandoned animals by facilitating onsite adoptions, hosting offsite adoptions at events and locations throughout the community, and working collaboratively with rescue organizations, volunteers and adoption partners.
