The Humane Society of Greater Miami is excited to announce the launch of its first ever Kids Camp series! Your little ones will have the times of their lives as they embark on a fun and educational adventure at the Soffer and Fine Adoption Center! They will discover the magic of animal compassion, learn about the shelter through fun and engaging games and activities, and best of all, meet some of the amazing shelter pets who are waiting to meet their forever families!
The Humane Society of Greater Miami’s Camp Series offers single and multi-camps. Single-day camps take place on select Teacher Planning Days, with the first camp launching on December 22nd. All camps are held at the Soffer and Fine Adoption Center, located at 16101 West Dixie Highway in North Miami Beach, and run from 9:00am – 3:00pm.
Camp activities include:
A shelter tour & scavenger hunt
An exciting Kids Clicker Training Competition
Fun and educational games like Animal Bingo, Charades, and more
Meet-and-greets with shelter pets
Pet treat-making
Arts and crafts
Lessons on the humane treatment of animals

The Humane Society of Greater Miami’s lineup of camp activities provide a unique and hands-on approach to learning valuable lessons about all things animals while having so much fun! The Humane Society of Greater Miami is a limited admit, adoption guarantee facility dedicated to placing every dog and cat in our care into a loving home, and to promoting responsible pet ownership and spay/neuter programs. Adoption guarantee means that every animal that is admitted to our shelter is free from the threat of euthanasia due to time, space, or treatable medical issues. We provide shelter, food, veterinary care, and plenty of TLC while the dogs and cats wait for their permanent home, no matter how long it takes. We have been helping homeless animals in Miami-Dade County since 1936. We offer programs and services to educate, inform, and inspire people to take responsible care of their pets and treat animals with the kindness they deserve. With the support of people from across the county, we are helping to create a better community for all. We are a private, not-for-profit, 501 (c) (3) charitable animal welfare organization supported by our programs and services, as well as donations, private grants and fundraising events.
