Interfaith Advisory Board elects new officers

    MIAMI – The Miami-Dade County Interfaith Advisory Board (IAB) elected its Chair, 1st Vice Chair and 2nd Vice Chair to serve a one-year term that will end November 2024.

    Rabbi Mark Rosenberg was appointed as a board member to the IAB in February 2021, elected Vice Chairman of the board in November 2021, and re-elected in November 2022.

    This November, he was elected Chair of the Board. He also serves as the clergy to the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner’s Office and board member of the Miami-Dade County Mayor’s Faith-Based Community Symposium Initiative. Rabbi Rosenberg assists law enforcement agencies in cultural competency training, interagency planning and coordination, and as a community outreach coordinator. His experience as liaison between various departments throughout the state of Florida and the Jewish community allows him to expertly alleviate concerns related to law enforcement’s interactions with Jewish residents. He is a graduate of the Talmudic and Rabbinic school at Yeshiva Gedolah Ateres Yisroel in Monsey, New York.

    For the past 25 years, Claudia Miro has navigated various levels of the public sector including state, county, and municipal government. She has worked through several legislative sessions in Tallahassee, served as chief of staff to former Miami City Commissioner Mark Sarnoff, and as part of the executive team to former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi. She remains involved in her community, currently serving on the Miami Herald Community Advisory Board and Florida International University President’s Council.

    She is a member of Women United as well as a testimonial speaker for United Way Miami and until recently served on the Coral Gables Planning and Zoning Board. She joined the IAB in 2022 as a board member and was recently elected 1st Vice Chair. Miro is currently the Director of Business Development & Government Affairs for Freebee and has a master’s degree and bachelor’s degree in public administration from Barry University.

    Pastor Donald Clarke joined the IAB in 2021 and was recently elected 2nd Vice Chair. He currently serves as the Lead Pastor of Harvest Fire Worship Center in Miami Gardens and his focus is faith, family, and future. Pastor Clarke ministers extensively throughout the South Florida community and the United States and also serves as the Chaplain for the Miami Gardens Police Department. He earned his associates of arts degree from Broward Community College, bachelor’s degree in business from the American Intercontinental University, and a Master of Arts in biblical studies from the South Florida Bible College and Theological Seminary.
