Nissan Sentra SR offers fun and plenty of frills

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Starting at $24,000, the Nissan Sentra SR is the sporty trim at the top of the line, with big wheels and tires and a powerful engine.

The engine has 149 horsepower with 146 pound-feet of torque, which delivers 30 miles per gallon in the city and 40 miles per gallon on the highway.

I drove the two-tone monarch orange metallic – super black paint that was bright and the most unique on the road. It really pops out on the street, especially with the inclusion of 18-inch aluminum wheels.

The Nissan Sentra SR has LED headlights with LED signature daytime running lights and a dark chrome v-motion grille with a sporty rear design. The lights cast a wide band of illumination designed to imitate the sun and help you see more clearly at night.

Sentra’s 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine and responsive transmission makes driving feel quick and deliberate. You can put Sentra in sport mode that offers a stronger performance from the engine. You also can customize performance in eco mode that lets you dial in your Sentra for enhanced comfort and excellent efficiency.

The interior looks and feels luxurious, with the available tan leather upholstery that feels great. Inspired by the weightlessness of space, Sentra’s “zero gravity seats” can help reduce fatigue and provide comfort during the course of your drive.

I really enjoyed the space in the Nissan Sentra SR. You can stretch out in comfort with 43.8 inches of leg room up front, 34.9 inches in rear, and 14.3 cubic feet of trunk space to bring all the gear for a long weekend trip or the equipment for every sport your kids might play.

The technology is next level. With the Nissan Sentra, you can pull into that space with your pride and rims intact. The available “intelligent around view monitor” makes parking easy with a virtual composite 360-degree bird’s-eye view of the car. You can select from split-screen close-ups of the front, rear, and curbside views for a better look. It also gives you an on-screen heads-up when it detects moving objects near your vehicle.

The Nissan Sentra SR is a great ride that delivers both comfort and style. I like the performance and response. Give the Nissan Sentra SR a drive and let me know what you think!
