Coral Gables Commissioners Kirk Menendez, Melissa Castro and Ariel Fernandez were in Tallahassee this week advocating on behalf of Coral Gables residents. This is the second trip made by the three Commissioners, as they seek to advance the goals of residents and address key capital improvement projects in the city.

During their visit, the Commissioners met with legislators, municipal organizations, state agencies and other County and municipal officials.

“We are grateful to Senator Alexis Calatayud and Representative Demi Busatta Cabrera for being great champions for our residents in Tallahassee. We had a very productive trip and are looking forward to continuing to work together with our legislators on resident priorities,” said Commissioner Fernandez.

The Legislative Session started on January 9th and is expected to conclude on March 8th. Governor Ron DeSantis has announced that he is seeking a $4.6 billion reduction in this year’s budget, making these legislative visits by the three Commissioners crucial to advancing the City’s priorities in Tallahassee.
