The Miami Downtown Development Authority (Miami DDA) is supporting Downtown businesses to help strengthen the economic vitality of Downtown Miami. The Property Improvement Grant Program provides up to $50,000 to individual businesses and property owners to enhance the overall appearance of their storefronts while supporting increased economic activity and investment.
To kick off this year’s grant program, on Friday, Feb. 9, the Miami DDA presented a $20,000 check to MOM Realty, owners of the property featuring recently opened Downtown restaurant Jrk! The grant will allow for the installation of impact resistant aluminum and glass storefront and removal of awning and roll gates.
The program provides up to 50 percent of actual costs of pre-approved exterior property improvements for ground floor businesses and restaurants located in the Miami DDA District, which includes Brickell, the Central Business District and the Arts & Entertainment District. Improvements can include signage and awnings, lighting enhancements, painting and masonry work and landscaping or hardscaping.
