- City of Miramar Walk 2 Wellness Event: February 1, 2024
Every year our Senior Program participants are invited to attend the “City of Miramar Walk 2 Wellness” event at Miramar Regional Park. This year’s event promoted health and wellness in the community; our members participated in games, live entertainment, and successfully completed a walkathon.
- Valentine’s Day Celebration: February 14, 2024
Staff hosted a Valentine’s Day event with the themes of love and engagement, for registered Senior Program participants. The festivities included bingo, musical chairs, social engagement, music, and dance. The winner of the Valentine’s Day R&B Musical Chairs challenge was Ms. Lenora McCall!
- Weekly Walking Program
In the efforts to promote healthy lifestyles for our active older adults, staff created our “Walking Program” that encourages participants to engage in outdoor cardio to help improve blood flow and circulation. Participants work together as a support group to motivate their peers to remain consistent.
- Cleveland Ice Cream Field Trip
Our Senior Program participants recently visited Cleveland Ice Cream for an ice cream social to support our transportation units for grant funding through our partner, Area Agency on Aging of Broward County (AAABC).
