Brigham Young University-Idaho is pleased to announce the 2024 performance tour of Sound Alliance and Vocal Union to Florida. These two dynamic groups, comprised of exceptional BYU-Idaho student musicians, create an upbeat instrumental and vocal  concert that entertains and inspires audiences of all ages.

Sound Alliance brings the energy with traditional rhythm, trumpet, trombone, and saxophone  sections. The band’s repertoire spans the history of jazz tradition from early dance bands to  modern jazz orchestras.

Vocal Union leaves audiences spellbound with their tight harmonies and vocal energy. This  distinct ensemble of singers perform some of the best in modern pop, big band, and classical jazz tunes.

The ensembles are under the direction of Aaron Miller and Nori Brower, faculty members of the BYU-Idaho Department of Music. Aaron Miller is an active performer, recording artist, and music educator. Nori Brower teaches music theory and ear training courses while also being a gifted arranger for Vocal Union.

Sound Alliance and Vocal Union have toured extensively throughout the United States. They have also toured in Canada, Puerto Rico, Chile, and the Dominican Republic.

BYU-Idaho is located in Rexburg, Idaho, and was established and is supported by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Founded in 1888 as a frontier academy, BYU-Idaho transitioned from a junior college, known as Ricks College, to a four-year university in 2001.

BYU-Idaho enrolls students from all 50 states and over 90 countries. Each semester, the  university serves over 37,000 on-campus students and more than 23,000 online degree-seeking  students from around the world.
