The Avenue Coral Gables Hotel & Residences, the Parisian-inspired mixed-use development by Roger Development Group, hosted Déjenuer and Design, a French-themed luncheon and design talk featuring Adriana Hoyos Design Studio and Bermello Ajamil & Partners on Apr. 25.
Father and son developers, Oscar Roger Sr. and Oscar Roger Jr. welcomed the project’s architect Willy Bermello of Bermello Ajamil & Partners, along with Adriana Hoyos lead designer, Arturo Ochoa Volante. An enlightening discussion followed on their shared vision behind The Avenue Coral Gables Hotel & Residences, a first-of-its-kind, eight-story building with a curated collection of 48 fully furnished residences in the chic Merrick Park District in Coral Gables.
Bermello addressed the audience made up of Miami’s leading brokers on his creative process for The Avenue’s architecture, beginning with background information on The City Beautiful Movement, which was inspired by the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Bermello explained that the fundamental idea expounded at the fair was that the city was no longer a symbol of economic development and industrialization, but now could be seen as enhancing the aesthetic environment of its many inhabitants. The fair impacted the way that Americans saw the urban landscape and brought the United States to the level of its European predecessors in terms of architectural design. George Merrick said he was captivated by the movement and set out to make Coral Gables a “City Beautiful.”
Arturo Ochoa Volante, Erika Contreras and Aimee Uriarte of Adriana Hoyos business development team spoke to The Avenue’s vibrant design concept, palette, furnishings, and materials, as well as the products that create luxury ambiances according to the spaces and aesthetic along with the various furniture packages available to The Avenue buyers.
They unveiled never-before-seen artistic renderings of the lobby, pool deck, dining room and other common areas.
Jesse Ottley, president of Development Sales at Cervera Real Estate, praised the sales team on its enormous success led by Margot Hart with just a handful of residences left.
He also spoke to the many advantages of ownership, proximity to Merrick Park, the airport, and a prestigious Coral Gables address across from the entrance to the Shops at Merrick Park offering buyers the convenience of living just steps away from the 100 retailers and restaurants, including Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Gucci, and fine dining establishments like Sea Grill, Brasserie Central, and Villagio, along with the added bonus of owners being able to use rent their homes when not in use.
The guests enjoyed an afternoon of French-inspired fare and champagne at Adriana Hoyos new design studio at 2725 Salzedo St. in Coral Gables.
“We are thrilled with the success and fully credit the world class team we put together to bring our dream to reality,” said Oscar Roger, president and CEO of Roger Development Group.
“We’ve created not just a luxurious home for a lucky few, but an entirely new brand,” added Oscar Roger Jr.
