Espino’s district encompasses a northwestern portion of Miami-Dade County, overseeing approximately 50 schools. Since his appointment, Espino has been a dedicated advocate for educational improvements and parental rights. His proactive approach and involvement have earned him the trust and confidence of his constituents.
Born to Cuban parents, Danny Espino is a first-generation Miami native. He is a lifelong District 5 and Miami Springs resident, where he resides with his beautiful wife, Barbie, and their four boys, Lucas, Benjamin, Elliot, and Jacob. Danny began his work in public service just after turning 19 years old in various capacities within the City of Miami Springs local government. He has also served the residents of District 5 by serving as City Attorney for several cities, including the City of Doral, City of Miami Springs, and the Town of Medley. Danny is a respected attorney, having been recognized as an honoree by Best Lawyers in America and Lawyer of the Year by the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He was awarded the Up and Comer, Forty under 40, and Rising Star awards by South Florida Business & Wealth Magazine, South Florida Business Journal, and the Daily Business Review, respectively. Danny was also named Top Young Leaders of Miami by Latino Leaders Magazine. But by far, “Daddy” is the honor he most proudly bears.
