The City of Miami and the Miami Downtown Development Authority (Miami DDA) are providing additional funding to local business owners to support their operations and ensure the continued vitality of the Downtown area.
Miami DDA chair and city Commissioner Manolo Reyes in June 17 distributed checks to businesses in Sections D and E of Flagler Street, including Pega Grill, Mario the Baker Downtown, Eddy & Sons, and more.
A total of $80,000 in grants was distributed between businesses in the final construction zones along Downtown Miami’s historic Flagler Street. Each business received a grant valued up to $5,000 to be used for expenses including rent, utility bills, purchase of business equipment, and marketing or advertising.
Since 2021, the Miami DDA and the City of Miami have provided grants to businesses affected by the extensive Flagler Street Beautification project. These grants are part of a broader initiative to revitalize the Downtown area while supporting the economic health of local enterprises. To date, Downtown Miami businesses have received a total of $622,000 in funding from the Miami DDA.
