The City of North Miami’s Elected City Clerk Vanessa Joseph, Esq., is now certified as a Master in Municipal Clerk from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC). This designation recognizes the highest level of professional achievement for municipal clerks.

Joseph was also awarded the Robert N. Clark Memorial Award by the Florida Association of City Clerks (FACC) during the organization’s 2024 FACC Summer Conference & Academy, on June 26, 2024, in Kissimmee, FL.

The Robert N. Clark Memorial Award was established to recognize a Florida city clerk who has significantly promoted and advanced the ideas and goals of the profession by actively participating in improving municipal government. Named after Robert N. Clark, the first-ever FACC president, who served in 1972, this award symbolizes the pinnacle of excellence in the field.

Angie Guy, FACC President, expressed her admiration for Joseph’s exceptional contributions, stating, “This year’s recipient has achieved this and much more. Her dedication to municipal government extends beyond traditional avenues.”

Joseph’s dedication to municipal government is evident through her numerous innovative projects and initiatives to enhance public understanding of city government and the crucial role of a City Clerk. In North Miami she has streamlined access to public records, advocated for improvements in managing municipal elections, and launched a video series to briefly recap the city’s council meetings, ensuring residents stay informed.

Furthermore, Joseph has recognized the importance of educating the younger generation about municipal government. She has created engaging resources, including videos and coloring books, showcasing the City Clerk and other vital roles within the City.
