Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce and Education Foundation to Host the 2024 Elayne Weisburd Excellence in Education Awards Ceremony
The Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with its Education Foundation chaired by Bruce Gould, proudly announces the 2024 Elayne Weisburd Excellence in Education Awards Ceremony. This prestigious event will take place on September 6th at 11:00 AM at the historic Women’s Club of Miami Beach.
The Elayne Weisburd Excellence in Education Awards recognize and celebrate the dedication and impact of our community’s exceptional educators. This year, we honor eight distinguished teachers who have shown outstanding commitment to nurturing and inspiring our students. These honorees exemplify the profound importance of educators in shaping the future of our communities through quality education.
Our 2024 honorees include:
- Melissa Abril-Dotel (North Beach Elementary)
- Beatriz Arsenault (Miami Beach South Pointe Elementary)
- Travis James Boldon (Miami Beach Senior High)
- Yunifer Duque (Miami Beach Nautilus Middle School)
- Bianca Carolina Jara (Miami Beach Fienberg Fisher K-8)
- Julia Menendez (Treasure Island Elementary)
- Ashley Quiroz (Biscayne Beach Elementary School)
- Jeniffer Sanchez-Rivero (Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor K-8 Center)
The annual event, created in honor of Elayne Weisburd, commemorates her pioneering spirit as the first woman elected to the City of Miami Beach Commission in 1977 and her 12 years of dedicated service as Chair of the Miami Beach Chamber Education Foundation Committee.
“Teachers are the cornerstone of our society, fostering the growth and development of future generations. Their dedication and hard work ensure that our communities thrive and prosper,” said the Chamber President & CEO, Brittnie Bassant. “We are thrilled to celebrate these extraordinary educators who go above and beyond in their commitment to our children’s education.”
