Homestead-Miami Speedway announced recently that Grammy-winning DJ Cedric Gervais will return as the pre-race show performer for the NASCAR Playoffs race weekend in October.
The Miami Beach resident is back for the second straight year to transform the frontstretch into a club scene ahead of the NASCAR Cup Series Straight Talk Wireless 400 on Sunday, Oct. 27.
“The decision to bring back Cedric Gervais was an easy one. Few people embody the essence of South Florida – its energy and vibrant flair – the way he does,” said Guillermo Santa Cruz, president of Homestead-Miami Speedway. “Last year, a mass of people crowded the stage and jammed to his unique style, proof of how well his electric show aligns with the thrilling pulse of a NASCAR Playoff race.”
Fans can get right on the track to catch his set prior to the Straight Talk Wireless 400 by purchasing an Infield Grounds Pass, starting at $50. The pass grants you access to Beach Bash and to the iconic frontstretch at HMS for pre-race activities such as driver intros and the Cedric Gervais pre-race show. The Infield Grounds Pass is an add-on that requires a Sunday admission ticket for entry. While children under 12 pay only $10 for a Sunday admission ticket, they can access the infield for free when accompanied by a paying adult with an Infield Grounds Pass. Military members can verify their eligibility for a special offer on Infield Grounds Passes.
Gervais won a Grammy as a producer for best remix for his version of the popular Lana Del Rey song Summertime Sadness in 2013. Notable remixes Gervais has produced include Willy Moon’s Yeah Yeah, Katy Perry’s Wide Awake, and Borgore’s Decisions. He also has 6.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify and had acting roles in the films Mile 22, Deepwater Horizon, Patriot’s Day, and Pain & Gain.
In 2024, Gervais has been building on his notable discography with two new singles titled On My Mind and Soy Candela. He’s also featured on popular DJ David Guetta’s new single Switch, which released on July 19. Gervais’ pre-race show was a fan favorite entertainment attraction during the 2023 NASCAR Playoffs race weekend at Homestead-Miami and will look to build upon an outstanding performance from last year.
Gervais will be going on a nine-show tour starting this August with notable stops in Greece, France, Spain, Croatia, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Orlando. To learn more about Cedric Gervais and his upcoming tour, visit cedricgervais.com.
The NASCAR Playoffs race weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway begins with a doubleheader on Saturday, Oct. 26. The day starts with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at noon followed by the NASCAR Xfinity Series at 4 p.m. The NASCAR Cup Series will cap off the weekend’s action on Sunday, Oct. 27, with the Straight Talk Wireless 400 at 2:30 p.m. Grammy-winning DJ Cedric Gervais will start the action on Sunday with a pre-race performance for fans on the front stretch.
