Alpha Schools, a Texas-based school with a highly innovative approach to education, is set to welcome students on August 14 to its new Miami campus located at 8000 SW 56th Street. Alpha’s proprietary model involves a reimagination of what school looks like. AI-assisted adaptive apps create a personalized learning experience for students, adjusting to each student’s individual needs. Students learn 2x faster with personalized lesson plans and then spend the majority of their day learning life skills that help propel them to future success. The typical school day is filled with project-based workshops that teach students things like financial literacy, goal setting, entrepreneurship, public speaking, critical thinking and teamwork.
“It’s a complete reimagination of education,” says co-founder, MacKenzie Price, the Stanford-educated innovator who launched her first school in Austin, TX a decade ago in response to local choices that fell short for her own two daughters. “Our students do project-based workshops like coding self-driving cars they race around a Formula One replica track. They take the Harvard Business School Sneaker Challenge where they fill the role of a shoe company CEO and form teams to practice business skills and decision making. Our students learn to think critically and creatively. These are valuable skills that will stay with them for life,” says Price.
The academic outcomes speak for themselves. With AI-assisted learning, Alpha students score in the top 2% nationally across all core curriculum, even though they spend only two hours a day on academics.
Alpha Miami marks the school’s third location and first outside of Texas. The school is growing its footprint across the country to meet demand. In Austin and Miami, it’s the choice for families looking for an innovative new approach to education. The Brownsville, Texas campus caters to the children of SpaceX employees, opening its doors two years ago near Starbase, the new SpaceX global headquarters.
“Miami is a growing, thriving city that is attracting new families from all over the world looking for high-quality education, and we are confident that Alpha connects with both the city’s entrepreneurial spirit and the demand for high quality education.”
Alpha’s Miami campus opens its doors for the new school year, on August 14, providing a unique new option for local students.
