South Florida PBS, celebrated the grand opening of its groundbreaking “Da Vinci – An Immersive Art Experience” with an exclusive VIP event attended by local dignitaries, board members, and distinguished guests. The evening marked a significant cultural milestone for Boynton Beach and the broader South Florida community.

Boynton Beach Mayor Ty Penserga joined South Florida PBS President and CEO Dolores Fernandez Alonso in welcoming approximately 80 guests to this revolutionary exhibition. The evening featured a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the official inauguration of this unique cultural destination.

“Tonight, we stand at the intersection of culture, technology, and education – a space where South Florida PBS thrives,” stated Fernandez Alonso during her welcome address. “This immersive experience is more than just an exhibition; it’s a journey through the genius of Leonardo da Vinci, a man whose vision and creativity continue to inspire us centuries later.”

The VIP event offered guests an exclusive first look at the exhibition’s two main attractions: a meticulously recreated version of Da Vinci’s workshop and the stunning immersive art experience. The latter, produced by Phoenix Immersive Ltd and designed by the internationally acclaimed studio flora&faunavisions GmbH, features original music by renowned UK DJ SASHA and a script by acclaimed writer Dan Cadan.

The evening’s atmosphere was enhanced by the elegant sounds of a live musical ensemble, featuring a trio of violinists accompanied by a keyboard player. Guests enjoyed fine cuisine and refreshments while exploring the multisensory exhibition. The celebration culminated in a spectacular fireworks display, illuminating the Boynton Beach sky in honor of this momentous occasion.

The exhibition represents a significant investment in cultural education and community enrichment, made possible through the generous support of Leonard & Norma Klorfine, The Eunice Joyce Gardiner Foundation, The Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation, Mary Alice Fortin Foundation, Kerrin & Peter Bermont, and Dr. Michael Zinner.

The Da Vinci Immersive Art Experience will open its doors to the public on November 2nd, offering South Florida residents and visitors an unprecedented opportunity to engage with the Renaissance master’s work through cutting-edge technology and innovative storytelling.

South Florida PBS is committed to enriching, strengthening, and empowering diverse communities through trusted content and experiential learning. As the region’s premier source of public media, the organization continues to pioneer new ways to bring art, culture, and education to its audiences.
