The City of Miami Beach approved under a consent agenda, a resolution agreeing to explore the establishment of a satellite office in that municipality that would provide residents with convenient access to essential Tax Collection services and Driver License’s transactions. This initiative is part of a broader effort launched by Honorable Dariel Fernandez, Tax Collector of the Miami-Dade County.

Mr. Fernandez addressed the City of Miami Beach Commission during their latest meeting held on February 3. Mayor Steven Meiner and the Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution directing city administration to work with the Office of the Tax Collector in assessing the feasibility of this project. The administration will conduct a comprehensive study, to evaluate potential locations, costs, operational requirements, and the overall benefits of such a facility for the residents of Miami Beach.

Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez reaffirmed his commitment to expanding services across Miami-Dade County stating: “We are here to support you, to work together, and to bring the services we provide in downtown Miami closer to the residents of Miami Beach. “Soon, residents will be able to pay property taxes, complete vehicle registration, pay business taxes, or renew and obtain a Driver License or Identification Cards—right in their own community.” added Fernandez.

Mayor Meiner praised the Tax Collector for his immediate and proactive leadership in making essential services more accessible. In turn, Commissioner Alex Fernandez commended his dedication, saying, “For as long as I’ve known Dariel, he has always been driven by honesty, high ethics, and a passion for giving back to the community. I am so proud you are in the position you hold today and that you are partnering with our City to help improve the services our residents and tax payers receive.”

As part of his ongoing initiative, Tax Collector Fernandez is spearheading a countywide effort to establish satellite offices in multiple municipalities. Recently, the City of Coral Gables approved a similar resolution, committing to work with the Tax Collector’s Office to bring services closer to residents. These offices will enable residents to conveniently handle transactions such as vehicle registration, driver’s license renewals, property tax and business tax payments, eliminating the need to commute to downtown Miami, where the only Tax Collector public service office is located.

The feasibility study will play a crucial role in determining the most effective approach to establishing the proposed Tax Collector’s service center in Miami Beach. This initiative underscores a shared commitment to enhancing government services and ensuring greater convenience for all residents.
