The Miami Tropical Botanic Garden, a unique three-acre tropical oasis located in Miami’s urban core at 6415 NW First Pl., has announced a $1 million launch gift toward its $4 million campaign to preserve the city’s final natural Everglades habitat — before it disappears forever.
This transformative donation jumpstarts a critical mission to preserve irreplaceable native trees, protect vital flood mitigation land, and create a world-class sanctuary for education, recreation, and environmental resilience.
To celebrate this milestone and ignite community support for the $1 million public match campaign, the Miami Tropical Botanic Garden will host an extraordinary Garden Gala dinner at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 8, in partnership with Miami’s Michelin-rated Vietnamese restaurant Tâm Tâm.
Attendance is limited to 100 guests and tickets are $500 per person.
The exclusive culinary experience will feature a four-course dinner curated by award-winning Chef Tam Pham from Michelin-rated Tâm Tâm, set against the lush backdrop of the Miami Tropical Botanic Garden.
Additional highlights of the evening include an exciting live raffle with fantastic prizes, live music, handcrafted cocktails, immersive art activations, and more. Every moment of this unforgettable night will directly support the preservation efforts and raise critical awareness for the match campaign, ensuring the future of this essential green space for generations to come.
The Miami Tropical Botanic Garden is more than just a green space — it is an essential part of Miami’s environmental future. With Miami facing increasing challenges from climate change, urban development, and flooding, protecting this space is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to invest in sustainability and community well-being. Preserving the Miami
Tropical Botanic Garden, will:
• Safeguard native trees that absorb floodwaters, improving Miami’s climate resilience;
• Create a green sanctuary for families, schools and future generations to explore and enjoy, and
• Enhance property value and quality of life, keeping Miami a vibrant, livable city.
“This $1 million launch gift is a powerful first step toward achieving our vision for the Miami Tropical Botanic Garden,” said Casey Zap, director and co-founder of the Miami Tropical Botanic Garden. “But we can’t do it alone. We need the community’s support to match this generous gift and ensure Miami’s future includes spaces where nature and families can thrive.”
