Seraphic Fire is honored to dedicate its upcoming Enlightenment Festival – Classical: Martines, Mozart & Haydn concert to the memory of Mark Trowbridge, a beloved friend, dedicated supporter, and cherished member of the Seraphic Fire family. We are blessed to raise our voices in recognition of a dear friend whose presence enriched our lives and whose legacy will continue to inspire. Mark, known as “Mister Coral Gables,” served on Seraphic Fire’s Board of Directors from 2016 to 2023 and held the role of Co-Chair of the Executive Board from 2022 to 2023.
The concert, conducted by Seraphic Fire’s Artistic Director and Mark’s close friend, Patrick Dupre Quigley, will take place on Friday, March 7, at 8:00 p.m. at Church of the Little Flower in Coral Gables, the venue where Mark often attended Seraphic Fire performances.
“Mark Trowbridge was a force of nature whose love for the Coral Gables community was unparalleled. His impact on Seraphic Fire extended far beyond his leadership—his passion for the arts and unwavering support for our mission will be deeply missed,” said Patrick Dupre Quigley.
The evening will feature the modern world premiere of Marianna Martines’ O, Virgo, cui salutem, showcasing the brilliance of a composer admired by Mozart and Haydn. Audiences will also experience timeless works by Haydn and Mozart, including the transcendent Laudate Dominum from Mozart’s Vesperae solennes de confessore.
This special performance honors not only the luminous works of classical music’s greats but also recognizes Mark’s legacy as a visionary community leader, mentor, and friend whose ability to connect people enriched the lives of many.
