A record crowd of nearly 200 supporters attended the 14th annual Maine Lobster Feast presented by Firestone Capital at Coral Reef Yacht Club, all to benefit The Way Forward Foundation, formerly known as The Woody Foundation.
The foundation plans to direct the proceeds from this event to The Sabrina Cohen Foundation (SCF). While sporadic rain moved the outdoor event inside, feasting on Maine lobster with the accompanying sides with open bars made for a great party.
On hand to greet guests was Woody Beckham, whose accident inspired Bill Beckham and the family to create the foundation to help people with paralysis live an independent and active life. In turn, The Sabrina Cohen Foundation works at providing beach access to those with disabilities as well as access to public playgrounds, etc.
Everyone is encouraged to join SCF for their first Beach Day of the season on Sunday, Apr. 20, to watch the magic unfold as access is enabled on the beach.
Among the many supporting and enjoying the affair were Ana Fournaris, Steven Tonkinson, Rick and Margarite Tonkinson, Trish and Dan Bell, Tom Abraham, Norma Jean Abraham, Anthony and Neira Poppe, Robin and Susan Shelley, Maria and Mike Kesti, Becky and Tom Matkov, Kadie Black, Jerry Kavulich, Lucy Foerster, and Nicolas Eterovic.
Coming soon is the Bash Fishing Tournament on Apr. 26 in Coconut Grove. For more information and upcoming events visit www.wayforwardfoundation.org.
