Summer Happenings

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
Vice Mayor Joy B. Smith

As we embrace the heart of summer, I want to take a moment to connect with each of you and highlight some important matters and exciting happenings in our community.

Hurricane Season Preparedness

First and foremost, I remind everyone that hurricane season is officially underway, running from June 1 through November 30. Preparation is key. Please ensure your emergency kits are stocked, evacuation plans are in place, and you are signed up for city alerts. The safety of our families and neighborhoods depends on being informed and ready.

Summer Fun & Back-to-School Season

Summer in West Park is a vibrant time filled with activities for all ages. From youth programs to community events and park gatherings, there is something for everyone. I encourage all families to take advantage of the summer offerings throughout our city. As we approach the back-to-school season, the City of West Park will be hosting its annual Back-to-School event. This cherished tradition helps prepare our students with supplies and motivation for a strong academic year. Keep an eye on the city’s website and social media for the official date and details.

As always, I remain committed to serving you and ensuring West Park continues to be a safe, thriving, and united community. Let’s stay connected, stay safe, and make the most of this summer season together.
