Planet FIAT in Doral, today announced that it has launched a new community initiative that will help local charities and schools in South Florida while promoting the Arts. The program will consist of hosting a series of events that will feature a myriad of artists, designers, musicians and performers from the community to help raise donations as well as awareness for a number of causes, local charities and schools. All events will be held at the Planet FIAT Studio located at 9975 N.W. 12th Street in Doral.
“We are part of a city that is vibrant, but there are many of those that are in the surrounding neighborhoods that have a lot of needs and we feel that it is our corporate responsibility to be truly proactive in continuously giving back,” says Carlos Rodriguez, General Sales Manager of Planet FIAT. “We are extremely excited about this new undertaking and look forward to helping as many charities as possible while growing our relationships with the business community.”
The first event, Art in the PARK..ING Lot is set for November 15th at 7 p.m. at the Planet FIAT Studio and will showcase the works of renowned local Jeweler Julie Miro and Artist Alexander Stratos. A portion of the night’s proceeds will benefit His House Children’s Home, a private, non-profit, organization dedicated to restoring the lives of children from newborn to 18 years of age by providing residential care for abused, neglected and drug-exposed children in a home-like setting. The agency is licensed by the Florida Department of Children & Families. The organization also provides foster and adoption placement, case-management, in-house counseling, tutoring, in addition to weekly enrichment activities such as art, music, athletics, drama and music production. Since its inception, His House has enriched the lives of over 4,500 children. And through December 15th, 2012 Planet FIAT is also one of the official “Drop Off” stations for goods that will be donated to the organization. Art in the PARK…ING Lot, which will showcase the works of Sculptor, Juan Carlos Toca, and Photographer/ Artist Cary Lozano. Proceeds will also be used to benefit the His House organization.
January 2013
Art in the PARK…ING Lot, will showcase the works of students from the Florida International University among other artists that are soon to be determined.
February 2013
All That Jazz, will have performances by New World School of the Arts Jazz Band. There will also be a silent auction of items that are being donated by a number of sponsors. Proceeds or funds raised will benefit the Miami Children’s Hospital Craniofacial Department.
Spring line up of events with more details are under development and will be announced.
“With the help of customers, guests, business partners, we can be part of good causes and help the local community, the arts, youth, children, education, environment and human rights, and our society as a whole,” adds Mr. Rodriguez.
