FIU BBC presents World Aids Day 2012

Florida International University’s Biscayne Bay Campus will host “Does HIV Look Like Me?” as part of the World Aids Day commemoration. The event is open to the media, the community and its students on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 11:00 AM -2:00 PM in Panther Square at Florida International University, Biscayne Bay Campus, located at 3000 N.E. 151 Street, North Miami, FL.
The event will feature a Resource Fair where various FIU departments and community organizations will provide students with useful HIV/AIDS-related information and materials. The Resource Fair will be followed by a speaking engagement with Todd Murray, President and Founder of Hope’s Voice, an organization that trains and represents young people living with HIV/AIDS. In addition to sharing his story, Todd will provide an insightful look into his organization, while bringing HIV awareness to the community.

Murray was diagnosed with HIV at the young age of 20. As an advocate, leader and innovator, he has been able to educate hundreds of schools around the world, share his message and create awareness on the topic of HIV and AIDS. Murray also won an Emmy Award for his work on the Does HIV Look Like Me?

Murray will speak at FIU-BBC at 1:00 PM followed by a Q&A session at the Mary Ann Wolfe. This will be an opportunity for the FIU community to ask questions and gain knowledge not only on the topic of HIV and AIDS, but also on his inspiring organization and story.
