Miriam Quiros-Laso, Miami Dade Public Library Coral Reef Branch manager, has announced that free AARP tax preparation will be available at two local libraries, one in Palmetto Bay and one in Pinecrest. Quiros-Laso has been the branch manager in Palmetto Bay since April 2011.
“You’re welcome to stop by the branch during these hours to speak with one of their certified volunteers,” Quiros-Laso said. “Our library branches provide space for AARP Tax Assistance representatives, who offer free income tax preparation services. Please note that library staff are not able to answer income tax–related questions. An AARP representative will be best equipped to assist you with your specific concerns.”
Ellen Book is the branch manager at the Pinecrest Library. Other branches within the Miami-Dade Public system also will be having AARP tax assistance sessions. Consult your area branch for days and times.
The Coral Reef Branch, located at 9211 SW 152 St., Palmetto Bay, FL 33157, is hosting AARP Tax Assistance two days per week:
Wednesdays through Apr. 15, from 1 to 6:30 p.m., and Fridays through Apr. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Pinecrest Branch, located at 5835 SW 111 St., Pinecrest, FL 33156, hosts AARP Tax Assistance one day a week on Saturdays through Apr. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
