Tri-Rail is now offering South Florida residents the chance to take its Commuter Challenge and experience a free ride onboard the commuter rail system. As part of this outreach effort, potential riders can visit www.tri-rail.com to find out how much money they can save by riding Tri-Rail and register for a complimentary ticket to ride the train for one day.
“This is a good opportunity to get new riders on the train to experience the ease and affordability of riding Tri-Rail,” said Bonnie Arnold, public information officer of SFRTA/Tri-Rail. “With our easy connections to all that South Florida has to offer, we hope that those commuting from Miami to Palm Beach will use this chance to recognize the value of riding Tri-Rail to get to work, school and some of the area’s best events and attractions.”
Non-riders will be invited to take Tri-Rail’s Commuter Challenge by visiting Tri-Rail’s website to calculate the great savings associated with riding the train. Commuters who do not hold a Tri-Rail EASY Card will be able to register to receive a complimentary Tri-Rail ticket.
For Tri-Rail EASY Card holders (including Employer Discount Program members), Tri-Rail has also created the Refer A Friend program. Current riders can refer up to five new riders to receive a free ticket to ride Tri-Rail for one day. In appreciation for the referrals, current riders will be entered to win one of five Tri-Rail Monthly passes.
According to the American Public Transportation Association, commuters can save up to $9,000 per year with public transportation like Tri-Rail. Thousands of riders daily know that Tri-Rail offers a relaxed commute in air conditioned comfort and helps alleviate expenses for gas, tolls, parking, car repairs and more.
Tri-Rail’s Commuter Challenge and Refer A Friend program are eligible through November 15, 2013. For more information, visit www.tri-rail.com or call 1-800-TRI-RAIL.
