Long ago, a small band of faithful Jews defeated one of the mightiest armies on earth, drove the Greeks from Israel and reclaimed the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. Inside the Temple, they found only a single cruse of olive oil to light the menorah. The one-day supply burned for eight days.

Chanukah, the eight-day festival of light, commemorates these miracles and celebrates the triumph of light over darkness. This year marks the very first menorah lighting at The Barnacle and the first time since 1888 that Chanukah occurs during the Thanksgiving season.

Chanukah at The Barnacle is sponsored by Chabad of the Grove and The Barnacle Society. The Barnacle Historic State Park is administered by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. For additional information, please call (305) 442-6866 or visit www.chabadmiami.com.
