Kick-Off Pizza Party — Mark your calendar for the Family Day Preschool Registration Kick Off Pizza Party on Sunday, Jan. 26 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Your children will ride ponies and trains, work their way through a toddler obstacle course, enjoy the fun of a clown and everyone will munch on pizza. Parents will meet ECD preschool director Dr. Phyllis Bochman and learn about our high-quality Glen Greenstein ECD APPLE accredited and five-star rated Preschool. Parents of currently enrolled students and siblings save $100 off the registration fee when they register their child for ECD Preschool 2014-15. Singin’ with Susan — Another date for your calendar is Jan. 19 at 3 p.m. when the J will present Singin’ with Susan. The cost is $7 or $10 for both The Wonderful Wizard of Oz children’s exhibit and Singin’ With Susan. Susan Shane-Linder is a Miami-born award winning, published singer/songwriter and children’s recording artist. She has been performing professionally and teaching music for more than 30 years and is well-known throughout South Florida in pre-schools, elementary schools, summer camps, book stores, record stores, hospitals, retirement homes and many other organizations. She frequently is found entertaining people of all ages throughout the tri-county area. In 2010 she won a 2009 Nickelodeon Parents’ Picks Award for best party entertainer in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale.
Elayne Boosler, A Night of Comedy — Perhaps you have already marked your calendar or bought tickets for Elayne Boosler, ANight of Comedy on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30 for JCC members, $35 general admission and $50 for preferred seating. The JCC welcomes back this hilarious comedian. Boosler has been a touring standup comedian since 1973, playing open mic nights with her cohorts Andy Kaufman, Freddie Prinze, Jay Leno, Richard Lewis, Robin Williams, Richard Pryor and Lily Tomlin. Come see her in this rare small appearance. Before the performance, refreshments will be served at 7 p.m. with opening of Evolution of the Kibbutz by the Israeli Quilters’Association showing the work of 21 quilt artists in the Futernick Family Art Gallery.
Summer Camp — Summer will be here before we know it. Register for JCC Summer Camp before Friday, Feb. 7 and receive $75 off eight weeks and $50 off four weeks. Don’t be left out, register today. Summer Camp Dates: Monday, June 16- Friday, Aug. 8. If your children are up for a summer packed with fun activities and new friendships, JCC Summer Camp packs all of the essential ingredients for a great summer experience of swimming, music, Ruach (spirit), arts & crafts, gymnastics, sports, fieldtrips, late nights, out-of-town trips and, of course, just plain fun.
