Endodontists Faustino D. Garcia, DMD, and Oscar J. Peguero, Jr., DMD, of FDGEndo welcome patients to their new state-of-the-art office.

“I’d rather have a root canal…” This old cliché gives root canals a bad reputation. Although the procedure may have been painful years ago, that’s usually not the case with modern root canal treatment. Technology has advanced the procedures, setting them apart from those performed decades ago, says endodontist Faustino D. Garcia, DMD, of FDGEndo.

Dr. Garcia and partner Oscar J. Peguero, Jr., DMD, also are taking steps to set themselves apart from other endodontists. To better serve their patients and referring dental offices, FDGEndo recently moved from Riviera Plaza to a sleek, modern penthouse space in One 7000 Place in South Miami. The “new digs,” as Dr. Garcia calls it, is definitely not your typical endodontic office.

At FDGEndo, patients are greeted with bright white walls, lime green and ocean blue accents, polished concrete floors, beautiful orchids and surfboards on the walls. Also making waves in the space are colorful large-scale acrylic paintings, painted by Dr. Garcia’s wife Desireé. Along with this new contemporary space comes a contemporary attitude.

“We want our patients to be comfortable, and our referring dentists to know that their patients are receiving the best treatment and care at a modern facility,” said Dr. Garcia. “This space and our team project a relaxed feeling – a cool vibe. Our goal is to take away the procedure worries.”

Drs. Garcia and Peguero are experts in performing dental procedures in a way that eases patients’ fears and helps them avoid pain before, during and after a procedure.

“More than half the patients referred to our office come to us as an emergency and in pain,” said Dr. Peguero. “Our mission is to relieve that pain – and save their tooth.”

In fact, the endodontic office is the emergency room of dentistry. It’s all about availability, says Dr. Garcia. And he and Dr. Peguero are available to referring dentists and patients at a moment’s notice by office phone and cell phone.

The doctors use the most advanced techniques, materials and technology available, including 3D X-ray and the specialized endodontic microscope. These “game changers” provide them with the best visualization for any treatment situation.

Technology combined with top-notch education, training and experience add up to excellent patient outcomes. The FDGEndo team has more than 70 years combined endodontic experience and together their mission is to change the patient experience, says Dr. Peguero.

Dr. Garcia, a second generation dentist, was raised in Miami and attended Belen Jesuit Preparatory School. He received his DMD degree from the University of Florida College of Dentistry, and completed an advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) program and endodontic specialty training program. He practiced briefly with his father and then with friend and mentor Richard Newman, DMD, who recently retired after serving the South Miami community for more than 30 years.

Dr. Peguero was born and raised in Miami and like Dr. Garcia attended Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, graduating third in his class. He received the prestigious Chancellor’s Scholarship to attend Vanderbilt University and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He then attended the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he received his DMD degree and graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Patients also are cared for by “the girls” – FDGEndo’s experienced staff members whose vibrant personalities match the personalities of the doctors and the bright and cheery new space. The penthouse suite not only is a relaxing and welcoming location to pamper their patients, the team plans to host meetings and training sessions for other dental professionals. The first event will be a grand opening on March 28.

FDGEndo is a welcome addition to the 30 premiere medical professionals in One 7000 Place who provide the community with healthcare services in a variety of specialties. Patients will find modern amenities and conveniences throughout the building, including a newly renovated lobby and elevators and covered parking that connects to each floor of the building.

“The building is very well-maintained, which sets a positive tone for our patients the moment they arrive,” said Dr. Garcia.
